A word from Section Vice-Chief Bradley Bottoms

Dear W3S,

I am very excited to begin the new year. As Section Vice-Chief, I would like to strengthen the lodges of our section. The Order of the Arrow is an incredible organization, and the lodges are really what affects how the average arrowmen and perspective members views our Order.

Although the lodge level is such an essential aspect of our organization, it often gets the least support. That is why I am committed to being the support for the lodges. The main way I want to accomplish this goal is setting up more communications between the lodges. We are one of the smallest sections, with some of the smallest lodges in the country. Because our lodges lack so much of the support that the larger lodges have, we are often left short of many of our goals such as quality lodge and successful events. But if we come together as a section to support each lodge our section as a whole will improve drastically.

Over the course of two years as Lodge Chief of Ohlone Lodge I have been shocked at how much I learned from other lodge leaders, and hopefully they gained ideas from me. If all of or lodges did this we would all have successful Fellowships, ceremonies, induction numbers, and much more. This is because each lodge has some aspect that the other doesn’t.

As Vice-Chief, I would like to connect the leaders of the lodges so that each lodge can take ideas and support from each other. With this I believe that we can overcome many of the obstacles that we have been facing and truly find the path of the arrow.
