A word from Section Secretary Indy Nelson

Dear W3S,

I have a great feeling about 2010. Not only do we have a great idea for a location (Moffett Field) for Conclave, but we have been working very hard on marketing plans and new ideas for our second ever W3S Conclave. The current plan is to have a goal of an attendance of just over 400, however our high would be 500. It is definitely a goal we can work towards to make that number a realty.

I have personally made a goal to work on three huge projects to get completed before the COC in January. They are

  1. Section/Lodge Roster - This would include all Lodge Officers, Advisors, and Section Officers, CVC's, and Advisors.
  2. Section/Lodge Calendar - having the ability for Arrowmen from different Lodges to attend each others events. Not only will this mean meeting new Arrowmen, but the Arrowmen that attend an event, other then their own Lodge events, could create a spark of an idea that could be used for their home Lodge.
  3. Renovating our outdated website

From the COC in January, my focus will be on Marketing for Conclave, updating the website, and of course attending at least one event from each Lodge in our Section. I also am planning on attending OA Trail Crew this summer with fellow Arrowmen from our Section, attending the National Jamboree, and attending Section W3N's Conclave next Fall.

Another big project will be working on the Nor Cal 2010 Jamboree. this event will be a joint effort off our 8 lodges from W3S, and the 5 Lodges of W3N. The 6 Section Officers from W3S and W3N will be working very closely with the combined 13 Lodges to put on the best ever possible OA Village at the Jamboree in April.

Section W3S is all about assisting Lodges in our Section. With this in mind, We are working on rebuilding our Section, so in the future will be able to assist Lodges in further detail to earn Quality Lodge, and as a Section earn Quality Section.

Yours in Brotherhood,

Indy Nelson
