Running for a Section Officer Position

Requirements:

  1. All Section officers must be under the age of 21 during the entire term of office.
  2. Anyone interested in running must obtain a letter of permission from their Lodge Staff Advisor
  3. All letters must be turned into Mark Matthews Sr., Section Adviser, before the beginning of the election Saturday night at conclave.

Every Section Election is different, however during the 2009 Section election, each candidate gave their 2 minute speech, each time they ran for either of the three offices. They then answered questions retaining to their knowledge and experience of the Order of the Arrow.

The Positions:

Section Chief

The office of Section Chief provides general youth leadership over the course of his term. He represents the section at the regional and national level.

Section Vice-Chief

The Section vice chief assists the Section Chief in his duties, and administers the LAP program.

Section Secretary

The Section Secretary works with the other section officers to provide leadership over the production of the section newsletter. The secretary is also charged with keeping accurate records of section meetings, updating the website, Roster, and Section/Lodge Calendar.
