In our efforts to keep you up to date on the latest Conclave information, Section W3S has just launched two new avenues of information on the web. Staying connected has never been easier! Now you can get all the latest section updates on facebook and Twitter. Use the links at the left side of the page to find us. Then join the section facebook group or follow us on twitter to begin receiving our conclave tweets.
Some content may be temporarily unavailable while we transition to our new look, but it should be back shortly. If you have input about the site (suggestions, content, questions, things we missed, etc.), send us a message on the contact us page.
The best way to enjoy the 2012 Conclave and to find out about the activities of the Order Of the Arrow, Section W3S and its lodges is to be apart of the Section mailing list. Over the course of the year, we will be sending out periodic updates to help make sure our members stay informed.
To insure that your information and privacy are protected, we are working with Constant Contact which maintains a full control of your account and provides you an easy way to update your contact information or, if you desire, to quickly opt out of future messages.
The section is having 3 fine warbonnets made that will be used for ceremonial purposes by Section W3S. This would include inducting new officers each year after elections, special occasions, broken arrow ceremony, etc. They will become part of W3S tradition for decades to come. Three people are donating their time to making these fine bonnets: Joe Rosenthal, Kelly Veach, and Scott Holm. Each will put in over 100 hours to make their bonnet.
The names of the makers and sponsors will be machine stitched into leather and sewn into the crown of each bonnet. They will be acknowledged at the 2011 Conclave in Monterey, where the bonnets will be exhibited and used for the first time.
The image shown here is an example of a bonnet made by Joe Rosenthal. We are using the same feather vendor (RealLeagal Feathers), but the design will be unique for W3S. All will feature hand painted feathers with extensions/wraps/tips/horsehair, hand beaded browbands, side decorations, and custom-made storage case.
